A Pretty Variation of The Seed Packet Quilt

February is off to a great start!

I love this bright beautiful quilt made with Kaffe Fassett fabrics, it’s a variation of The Seed Packet quilt.

After piecing and loading this quilt I chose the pantograph Rhododendron which plays on the lovely large blooms in the quilt. I am often requested to decide on the quilting designs for the quilts that I work on.

More often than not, I have a quilting plan within minutes of seeing a top and if not an idea will usually come to me not long after seeing the top.

The backing fabric adds another layer of bright with its pretty pink, but has a soft easy to look at design which beautifully shows off the quilting stitches and design.

Trimmed and ready for binding, this quilt will soon be completed and ready for snuggling under.

Joan’s Kaffe Quilt

Joan’s quilt was the first customer quilt of the year. I quilted it during a very grey cloudy week. The brightness of the Kaffe Fassett fabrics with the white background and oh the backing was just the ticket to light things up a bit.

I chose the pantograph by Bethanne Nemesh, called Nemesh Feather Grande which to me really suited the quilt. I also love stitching this out and that particular week I needed some relaxing stitching which it provided.

Unfortunately, the sunlight did not reappear before the quilt was picked up and the only picture of the finished quilt was before it was trimmed. Joan will bind it with the solid green that is in the top.

Oh and check out the backing!

Still Here and here’s what’s on my design wall!

I’ve been super busy quilting for my customers! (just in case anyone noticed an absence of posts!)

Our Local Quilt Guild’s show is this month so I’ve also been working of my own quilts and actually scheduled some time this week and last weekend do just that.

Here is a peek at one of my projects, after the show I will share pictures and give credit where credit is due!

I love the vibrancy of colour of this collection of Charm Packs (Kaffe Fassett) that I purchased from the Quilter’s Stash in Thunder Bay. I think (for me anyways) it’s a good thing that they didn’t have yardage in these prints!

There is one flower that I noticed after this picture was taken was placed incorrectly, that has been rectified! I can hardly wait to get this quilt (the top is now completed) onto my longarm.
